Every appliance reviewed on GretaMichaud goes through our
6-point Efficiency Calibration Framework.

The 6-Point Framework

1. Energy draw measurement — actual kWh recorded across 5 usage cycles,
   not manufacturer lab conditions
2. Running cost projection — annualised cost at all 50-state electricity rates
3. Payback period analysis — break-even calculation vs category average
4. Head-to-head efficiency score — ranked against tested category peers
5. Real-world variance testing — performance at different settings and loads
6. 5-year ownership cost — purchase + running cost combined

Our Independence Policy

We buy or borrow every appliance we test. We earn through affiliate links
on products we recommend — but our scores are never influenced by brand relationships.
Low scorers get published regardless.
